a butterfly/moth (?, tho i'm swaying more towards moth, due to the shape and build of the wings...cos as usual...i don't know what the hell this gorgeous creature is called ) from the Botanical Garden trip. a couple more of this bugger to upload next week, and out of the shadows, with its beautiful colors in full play - maybe then, someone can enlighten me with its name
how pretty! i have a girlfriend right now, not actually girlfriend atm though, more like bubbly best friend who i think of a lot. she reminds me of a dazzling spectacular moth.

heluva composition! it's a stark reminder how even in color, b/w tends to be stunningly magnificient, and you pulled it off perfectly! from composition, to title, to even framing it all! The DOF between fore and background gave a breathtaking contrast, while your sharp and punchy li'l moth (yes, it's a moth - butterflies have 4 wings, moths only got 2) gives your title a fabulous touch that makes us relate to the photo so much.
...this is something i'd hang on my wall.

I have to fave this piece.
The setup, the subject, the lighting - everything about it screams class and intrigue (a strange combination I know.) I love how enigmatic the moth appears just silhouetted against the foliage.
I simply adore it. This is some of your best work yet. Printworthy as well!
what a fantastic comment Estudio made on this piece. I couldn't have made better critique...i only wanted to add though that i love the way the curl of the moth's antenae echos the curl of the grass it is perched on...(above moth to the right a little). I would have never thought of doing this piece in b&w, and yet, i feel you have achieved more in doing so
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
